Tammy Keefer is chief information officer (CIO) for GE Aviation, a world-leading provider of commercial and military jet engines and components as well as integrated digital, electric power, and mechanical systems for aircraft. GE Aviation also has a global service network to support these offerings.
Prior to her January 2007 appointment, Keefer served as the CIO for Impact Supply Chain for Aviation and GE Energy.
Keefer joined GE in 1994 as part of the Information Management Leadership Program and worked at GE Transportation as a business analyst and black belt. She has held functional IT leader roles of increasing responsibility in the former GE Consumer & Industrial and CIO roles for Plastics and Transportation. Before joining the IM organization within Aviation and GE Energy, Keefer served as the CIO for GE Consumer Finance Europe, where she was responsible for the IM efforts of 1,800 employees in 22 countries.
Keefer holds a bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and a bachelor's in Computer Management Information Systems, both from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa. Prior to GE, Keefer was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve as a Combat Medical Specialist assigned to a Combat Medical Unit.
