"We congratulate LOT Polish Airlines on having achieved such a noteworthy record of engine performance," said Muhammed Al-Lamadani, GE Aircraft Engines' general manager for sales for Eastern Europe. "This accomplishment is consistent with LOT's utilization and reliability rates, which are among the highest for operators of our engines, reflecting the effectiveness of LOT's outstanding maintenance team and engine monitoring system."
In addition to four 767s, the LOT fleet includes four Boeing 737-400 and six 737-500 twinjet aircraft powered by CFM56-3 engines, which are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint partnership of General Electric of the United States and Snecma of France.
CF6-80C2 engines, having accumulated 22 million flight hours with operators throughout the world, enjoy a dispatch reliability rate of 99.9 percent, which means that fewer than one flight in 1,000 is canceled or delayed for engine cause.
Nearly 3,000 CF6-80C2 engines have been ordered to power nearly 1,200 firm and option aircraft, accounting for more than 50 percent of the current-generation wide-body aircraft in service or on order.
