Engine Overview
The U.S. Army's program to upgrade its fleet of UH-60A and -60L Black Hawk helicopters to the UH-60M and the AH-64D Longbow Apache to a Block III configuration includes upgrading the aircraft's T700-GE-701C engines, using GE kits, to the more powerful and durable T700-GE-701D configuration.
While maintaining a high commonality to the T700-701C, the -701D represents an affordable approach to increasing the performance and durability of these proven engines.
The T700-701D upgrade is an example of GE's continuing commitment to improve its engines through the infusion of new technologies and materials developed for its other military and commercial engines.
