GE Aviation Provides Advanced Systems on the C919 First Flight

Shanghai, China – May 5, 2017 – In partnership with its AVIAGE SYSTEMS joint venture, GE Aviation congratulates COMAC on today’s first flight of the C919 from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.  

GE Aviation is a key supplier on the C919 providing the following through AVIAGE SYSTEMS: the TrueCourse™ Flight Management System, Onboard Maintenance System, Enhanced Airborne Flight Recorder, Standby Displays and Remote Interface Units.    

AVIAGE SYSTEMS is supplying the integrated modular avionics system on the C919. This system is the central information system and backbone of the airplane’s networks and electronics and will host the airplane’s avionics, maintenance and utility functions.

AVIAGE SYSTEMS, a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aviation and the Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC), represents a significant milestone in the growing aerospace relationship between Chinese aviation industry and GE Aviation since the mid-1980s.  The GE-AVIC joint venture extends the relationship beyond engines into commercial avionics.
