June 19, 2013LE BOURGET - In its continued partnership with GE, StandardAero signed two license agreements to become an independent TRUEngine authorized maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for CF34 and CFM56* engines, demonstrating a further commitment to OEM quality engine maintenance. By signing this agreement, StandardAero will be the first independent TRUEngine authorized MRO provider for CF34 engines and the second for CFM56 engines.
As an authorized TRUEngine MRO provider, CFM56 or CF34 engines overhauled by Standard Aero are eligible for TRUEngine status, allowing the engine serial numbers to be included in the TRUEngine database made available to industry appraisers and potential buyers.

In 2012, GE Aviation and StandardAero received the prestigious Canadian American Business Council (CABC) Achievement Award for their collaboration on the GE Aviation Engine Testing, Research and Development Centre (TRDC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The $50 million (USD) TRDC opened in February 2012 and capped off a 12-month developmental partnership launched in February 2011 between the two companies. The 122,500-square-foot facility located at the James A. Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg conducts icing certification testing on GE's jet engines and develops advanced testing methodologies and equipment for GE Aviation's commercial, business/general aviation and military aircraft engines. Under the 10-year contractual agreement, GE designed and built the new facility, and StandardAero maintains and operates the certification test center which can test gas turbine engines up to 150 inches in diameter and rated up to 150,000 pounds of thrust.
Also in 2012, GE named StandardAero Business Aviation as an authorized service center for CF34-3 engines, which power Bombardier's Challenger series. As part of the agreement, StandardAero is approved to perform line maintenance inspections, routine installed engine maintenance, removal and replacement of engines and removal and reinstallation of external engine components.
