GE Aviation's Caledonian Shop Service-Ready by GEnx
Engine EIS

GE Aviation's Caledonian services facility in Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland, is working toward its EASA Part 145 and FAA FAR Part 145 repair station certifications in preparation for entry into service (EIS) of GE's next generation turbofan - the GEnx* engine.

CF34 Engine Program Reaches Major Milestones
MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg has received GE CF34-10E certification and is now an authorized CF34* service provider to the entire in-service CF34 engine family.

The CF34-8C5-powered CRJ1000 NextGen* jetliner prototype has completed its first flight.

COMAC's GE-powered ARJ21-700* regional jet readying for inaugural test flight by year's end.

CF6-80C2 Engines: 150 Million Flight-Hours and Counting
GE Aviation is celebrating 150 million flight-hours on the CF6-80C2 engine fleet, which first entered service in fall 1985 - nearly 18,000 flight-hours per day for this, the most popular CF6* engine model.

A CF6-80C2 engine time-on-wing record has been set by an American Airlines-operated engine that has logged more than 40,000 flight-hours and nearly 10 years of continuous on-wing operation on a Boeing 767* aircraft.

Component Repair Highlights
Quick takes on recently introduced CFM International and CF34* engine repairs.

Sharing Best Practices
A GE Celma (Petropolis, Brazil) logistics team review has resulted in an effective way to offset fuel surcharges by reducing freight costs in shipping CFM56* engines to their shop for overhaul - a best practice being shared across GE wherever the opportunity exists.
