Tech Upgrades Overview
GE engine upgrade kits incorporate today's technologies to reduce the cost of ownership of the upgraded engines and the aircraft they power.
Using a platform approach combined with evaluation and cost-benefit analysis, GE looks for opportunities to infuse the technologies of current production engines into mature engines.
GE worked closely with customers to develop upgrades that address their top overhaul cost drivers and removal causes. Through improved designs and repairs, coupled with advanced material and analytical methods, upgrades are increasing time on wing, reliability, repairability, fuel burn, residual value and adherence to more stringent environmental regulations, as well as reducing overhaul costs.
Customized upgrade packages are available in order to address specific fleet needs and reduce maintenance costs, and can be incorporated during normal maintenance activity. Application of GE technology ensures that the overall engine system design integrity is maintained and improved as these new products are developed, certified, and introduced to the original base platform design.
