Leading Chinese carrier improves safety with GE Aviation’s Digital Group
A rapidly growing, full service carrier with a young aircraft fleet had a constrained safety and flight data management team with limited resources. They had 4 safety related events on B737-800 aircraft from more than 3 MM flights across 4 years and they couldn’t figure out how to apply their safety experience to accurately assess tail strike risk to safety on the largest proportion of their fleet.
Since the adoption of customized solutions and expertise from GE Aviation’s Digital Group they have had 0 safety related events on their A320 fleet, they have operational reference and data to systematize the process for preventing safety related events in the future, and they now have an actionable benchmark for pitch angle, pitch rate and pitch command based on de-identified data from other global flights from EMS record of 409 MM flight hours.
