    GE Aerospace’s focus on reducing carbon emissions starts with us, by reducing CO2 emissions across our global footprint of offices and factories. The aim is to be carbon neural in our operations by 2030.

    Toward that goal, GE Aerospace is:
    • Upgrading sites to more efficient heating and cooling systems;
    • Updating facility energy contracts for smarter power and energy sources that aren’t derived from fossil fuels;
    • Using lean practices to identify and eliminate waste; and
    • Exploring the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in engine test cells.

    In 2021, GE Aerospace and customer-funded spending on research and development totaled $1.6 billion. These investments in aviation innovation have spurred us to develop leading-edge technologies, including work at our Electrical Power Integration Centre (EPIC) in Cheltenham, England, and a state-of-the-art Electrical Power Integrated System Center (EPISCenter) in Dayton, Ohio. Our engineers collaborate with top researchers at universities worldwide and have access to the breakthrough innovations of GE Aerospace Research.

      Green Team Network
      As GE Aerospace’s newest Employee Resource Group started in 2021, the Green Team Network at GE Aerospace welcomes all employees to learn, connect and advocate on environmental issues. Building on GE Aerospace’s commitment to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations and facilities by 2030, the Green Team Network furthers GE Aerospace’s goals to reduce CO2 emissions at facilities with a grassroots-driven approach. Its members are passionate GE Aerospace employees from around the world who help educate peers, share best practices, and execute local projects in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
