Controls and Interface Products & Systems
GE's configurable controls and interface systems are required for today's modular and simplified vehicle system architectures. This product family is comprised of flexible remote interfacing products tailored to meet a range of applications - from distributed Input/Output (I/O) and sensor management to actuation control.
Navigation and Guidance Systems
On the KC-46 and P-8, GE’s flight management systems (FMS) provides the ability to fly shorter flight paths and idle-thrust descents which reduce fuel consumption, while lowering emissions and reducing community noise impact, and also provides a truly integrated open architecture that is CNS/ATM compliant along with an inherent growth path for upgrades.
GE's FMS is the industry’s first to control an Unmanned Air Vehicle to a cleared flight plan as a demonstrated method for integrating UAVs into the national air space (NAS).

Vehicle Health and Data Management Systems
GE supports the full mission cycle with end-to-end maintenance, safety and training information systems for civil and military customers. Already in use on thousands of aircraft, these systems have been further developed for new aircraft like the A380, B787, F-35 and G650.

GE is a recognized leader in the control and processing of all mission-related functionality of military aircraft. We have extensive experience in a wide variety of systems and technologies, including stores management systems and autonomous air refueling systems. GE's land vehicle navigation systems are provided to various military vehicles, providing precision determination for any mission.
Inertial Navigation Products
GE Aviation provides innovative navigational grade Inertial Reference Units (IRU) that can be utilized for platform navigation, system stabilization and pointing applications. This IRU is based on a proprietary inertial gyroscope technology that reduces size, weight, power and cost (SWaP-C) when compared to units with similar performance.
GE’s IRUs are utilized on land, maritime and airborne applications with more than 5,300 units fielded worldwide. This product family is scalable to the customer’s specific needs. Options include standard or enhanced microprocessors and embedded military Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) GPS or embedded commercial GPS receivers.
Future enhancements include M-Code and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) solutions. Standard data ports include RS-422, RS-232, and 10/100 Ethernet that can be utilized by multiple clients on a given platform. Optional interfaces include ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, and others upon request.
A unique benefit of the IRU is the ability to statically align in 3-to-5 minutes and navigate in a GPS-denied environment, providing Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (A/PNT). When GPS aiding is available, the IRU can dynamically align within 1-to-3 minutes.
Other advantages of this IRU include the ability to provide high accuracy continuous pitch, roll, true heading (non-magnetic), location and targeting information in any environment.
