GE Aviation signs LTAA to maintenance support agreement for CF34 engines

May 21, 2017

SHANGHAI, CHINA | April 11, 2017

GE Aviation has signed Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey GmbH (LTAA) to a maintenance support agreement. LTAA will be responsible for dispatching its mobile repair teams to Asia Pacific, Australia and China to service CF34-series engines powering the Bombardier Challenger series and Embraer Lineage aircraft.

In October 2014, GE Aviation named LTAA an authorized service center for GE's CF34-series engines. With the expanded agreement announced today, LTAA’s service center and mobile repair teams will support Asia with line maintenance inspections and routine installed engine maintenance, including removal and replacement of engines and engine components.  LTAA will also provide repair and overhaul services. The authorizations will allow LTAA to provide GE’s OnPointSM solution and GE's new engine warranty support.

“GE Aviation and Lufthansa have deep experience maintaining engines across the aircraft spectrum and around the world. LTAA’s strong technical capabilities and proven support fit well with GE’s mission to provide superior engine service,” said Brad Mottier, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation's Business & General Aviation and Integrated Systems organization. "This agreement builds on the agreement we made with LTAA last year to support customers in Russia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Expanding mobile support to Asia provides our customers with improved response times, on-site support, and OEM-authorized technical capability.”

GE Aviation is expanding its service network for business and general aviation engines with more than 50 Authorized Service Centers for M601, H80 and CF34 engines. This network enables customers to have access to OEM-quality service and support around the world. In 2016, AIN magazine readers ranked GE Aviation No. 1 in its Turbofan Product Support Survey and Pro Pilot readers ranked GE Aviation No. 2 in its Turbine Powerplant Product Support Survey.

Since its service entry in 1983, the CF34 has earned an industry-leading reputation as one of the cleanest, quietest and most fuel-efficient engines in its class. These rugged, airliner-class powerplants set a new standard in corporate aviation for reliability and low maintenance costs.

Across the CF34 family, GE has delivered more than 6,000 engines and continuously invests in product enhancements. Today, CF34 engines are in service with 200 operators in more than 70 countries.
