Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey to provide mobile maintenance for CF34-series engines in Russia, Europe, Middle East, Africa

November 16, 2015

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – November 16, 2015 – GE Aviation signed Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey GmbH (LTAA) to a maintenance support agreement where LTAA will be responsible for dispatching its mobile repair teams to Russia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa to service CF34-series engines powering the Bombardier Challenger series and Embraer Lineage aircraft.

In October 2014, GE Aviation named LTAA an authorized service center for GE's CF34-series engines. With the expanded agreement announced today, LTAA’s service center and mobile repair teams will perform line maintenance inspections, routine installed engine maintenance, including removal and replacement of engines and engine components as well as repair and overhaul services. The authorizations also allow LTAA to provide OnPointSM solution and GE's new engine warranty support.

"GE Aviation and Lufthansa have deep experience maintaining engines across the aircraft spectrum, from our smaller engines like the CF34-3 to our larger engines like the GEnx. LTAA’s strong technical capabilities and proven support in this particular marketplace made this a smart decision to bring value to our customers,” said Brad Mottier, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation's Business & General Aviation and Integrated Systems organization. "We’re pleased to build on last year’s authorized service center agreement with LTAA by teaming together to provide an even stronger mobile support network for our CF34-series operators in Russia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.”

GE Aviation is expanding its service network for business and general aviation engines with more than 50 Authorized Service Centers for M601, H80 and CF34 engines. This network enables customers to have access to OEM-quality service and support around the world. In October 2015, Pro Pilot magazine readers ranked GE Aviation #1 in the 2015 Turbine Powerplant Product Support Survey for the 1st time in the 23-year history of this annual operator survey, which asked turbine operators to rate engine manufacturers on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (excellent) in 7 categories: response to problems, spares availability, cost of parts, speed in AOG service, tech manuals, tech reps and service satisfaction.

Since its service entry in 1983 on the Challenger 601 business jet, the CF34 has earned an industry-leading reputation as one of the cleanest, quietest and most fuel efficient engines in its class. These rugged, airliner-class powerplants set a new standard in corporate aviation for reliability and low maintenance costs.

Across the CF34 family, GE has delivered more than 6,000 engines and continuously invests in product enhancements. Today, CF34 engines are in service with 200 operators in more than 70 countries.
