BOC Aviation Orders CF34-Powered EMBRAER 190s
EVENDALE, OH -- BOC Aviation has ordered 15 CF34-10E-powered EMBRAER 190 aircraft. The engine order is valued at more than $210 million (USD) list price. Deliveries will begin next year.
"BOC Aviation's customers will appreciate the highly reliable and durable CF34-10E engine, which is the newest engine in GE's CF34 engine family," said Kevin McAllister, vice president and general manager of Global Sales at GE Aviation. "The CF34 engine family set the standard for reliability in the regional jet segment, and the CF34-10E incorporates many advanced technologies for improved fuel burn, reduced emissions and lower operating costs."
GE's CF34-10E engine has the highest thrust rating for the CF34 engine family at 20,000 pounds. More than 960 CF34-10E engines are in service with 48 customers. The engine continues to perform well in the field, accumulating more than 6 million flight-hours and 4 million cycles. The CF34-10E engine powers the EMBRAER 190/195 aircraft as well as the Embraer Lineage 1000 business jet.
Key CF34-10 design features include: a wide-chord fan blade for higher thrust and high tolerance to foreign object damage; 3-D aerodynamic design airfoils throughout the entire flow path, providing highly efficient, stall-free operation, as well as better fuel burn and higher exhaust gas temperature margins; a highly durable single annular, low-emissions combustor that meets or surpasses the most stringent emissions standards; and a single-stage high-pressure turbine for lower operating cost.
