GE/CFMI Engine Orders Worth $300 Million Announced at Paris Air Show

EVENDALE, Ohio - Jet engines produced by GE Aircraft Engines and CFM International (a 50/50 joint company of Snecma of the France and General Electric of the United States) were selected to power aircraft in two orders announced today at the Paris Air Show. The total value of these engine orders is more than $300 million.

American Eagle, the regional airline affiliate of American Airlines, announced its intention to order 25 Canadair Regional Jet Series 700 aircraft, plus option for an additional 25 aircraft. This new 70-passenger aircraft will be powered by the new GE CF34-8C. The value of this engine order is about $250 million.

In addition, Sunrock Aircraft Corporation, an operating/leasing arm of Nissho Iwai Corporation of Japan, ordered seven Boeing 737 airplanes, including five 737-600s and two 737-300s. The 737-600 aircraft will be powered by the CFM56-7 and the 737-300 will be powered by the CFM56-3. The value of the CFM engines is approximately $50 million.
