All Nippon Airways Orders GE CF6 Engines For 767-300ER Aircraft

July 24, 2002

FARNBOROUGH, England -- All Nippon Airways (ANA) has placed a firm order for nine Boeing 767-300ER (extended range) aircraft powered by GE CF6-80C2B6F engines. The engine order is valued at over $169 million.

"We are extremely pleased to extend our longtime relationship with ANA," said David Calhoun, president and CEO of GE Aircraft Engines. "The CF6-80C2 is a perfect match for ANA's 767-300 extended-range operations and is a proven performer in the marketplace."

All Nippon operates the largest fleet of CF6-80C2-powered Boeing 767s and 747s in Asia and is one of the largest CF6 customers in the world. The new engines are being delivered in 2002 and 2003.

"ANA's selection of GE's CF6 engine is testament to the engines continued reliability and stall-free reputation," said Rick Stanley, general manager of GE's CF6 Program. "ANA is a key customer and we're very proud that they have chosen GE as they continue to expand their operations in the Asia-Pacific region."

Most recently, the CF6-80C2 engine was selected to power the four Boeing 767 Tanker Transport Aircraft of the Japanese Defense Agency (JDA).

In addition to the Boeing 767s models, GE's CF6-80C2 engines power the Airbus A300 and A310, Boeing 747, and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 including Air Force One, the Boeing 747 that serves the President of the United States.

In its over 30 years of service, the CF6 family of engines has achieved remarkable levels of reliability with more than 6,000 CF6 engines flying on more than 3,000 aircraft for 170 customers around the world. CF6 engines have achieved 230 million flight hours and continue to build on that record at a rate of one million flight hours per month.
