EVENDALE, OHIO -- FedEx Express has selected the CF6-80C2 engine to power an order for 27 new Boeing 767-300 Freighters. FedEx Express has also signed a multi-year OnPointSMsolution agreement with GE that covers the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines.

The CF6-80C2 engine is GE's best-selling widebody engine and has accumulated more than 173 million flight hours and 40 million cycles, which is equivalent to 380,000 trips to the moon. The CF6-80C2 engine incorporates the Tech CF6 program, which consists of advanced airfoil cooling technology into the high-pressure turbine (HPT). This is standard on all CF6-80C2 production engines.
