DUBAI -- Emirates has ordered an additional 12 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, powered by the GE90-115B engines. The engine order is valued at more than $725 million (USD) list price. Deliveries will begin in 2009.
Emirates has also signed a 12-year OnPointSM solution service agreement for the maintenance and overhaul of its the GE90-115B engines. The agreement is worth more than $380M over the life of the contract.
Emirates and General Electric have established a strong relationship and cooperation. As one of the world's fastest growing international airlines, the company operates CF6-powered Airbus A310s, CFM56-powered A340s, and 32 GE90-powered 777-300ERs/-200LRs with additional GE90-powered 777 aircraft and GEnx-powered Boeing 747-8 aircraft on order. The airline is also the largest customer for the Airbus A380 and the Engine Alliance's GP7200 engines with 45 A380s on order.

The GE90-115B, the world's most powerful engine, recently passed its one million flight hour milestone and has an outstanding departure reliability rate of 99.96 percent. GE has sold more than 850 GE90-115B/-110B engines to 30 customers since it began selling the engine in 2000.
The engine is one the quietest per pound of thrust. The engine also exhibits superior fuel burn and low overall emissions due in part to its improved combustor. The combustor emits no more than 40 percent of the hydrocarbons that will be allowed by 2008 international standards.

Snecma of France, Avio SpA. of Italy, and IHI of Japan are revenue-sharing participants in the GE90 program.
