GE Secures Order from ALITALIA for GE90 Engines

Italian air carrier Alitalia has ordered six GE90-powered Boeing 777-200ER aircraftIn addition, the airline has ordered options for six longer range 777-300ERs.The firm 777 aircraft will be powered by the GE90-94B engine rated at 94,000 pounds of thrust; the option aircraft will be powered by the GE90-115B currently under development, rated at an unprecedented 115,000 pounds of thrust.Including Alitalia's order, 17 customers have ordered 191 firm and 52 option GE90-powered Boeing 777 aircraft, with a firm engine value of more than $6.5 billion.
