WOW Air Takes Delivery of First CFM LEAP-1A-Powered A321NEO

LE BOURGET, France — Iceland-based WOW air today took delivery of its first Airbus A321neo aircraft powered by CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines.  The aircraft is leased from Air Lease Corporation.

This is the second LEAP-powered airplane to enter the airline’s fleet.  WOW air took delivery of its first A320neo back in April.  On May 3, it become the world’s first airline to operate LEAP-1A-powered A320neo aircraft on transatlantic flights, traveling from Reykjavik to Montreal, Canada.  The airline, which began commercial service in 2011, also operates a fleet of seven CFM56-5B-powered A320 family aircraft.
