First GE LM2500+ Begins Successful Commercial Operation at Dupont Cogeneration Plant in The Netherlands

EVENDALE, OH - GE Marine & Industrial Engines (M&I) announced that the first LM2500+ recently began successful commercial service at a cogeneration plant in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. The LM2500+ is equipped with M&I's Dry Low Emissions (DLE) combustion system, and incorporates M&I's new two-stage high-speed power turbine (HSPT).

The 29-megawatt ISO LM2500+ provides 46,800 kilograms per hour of steam, and power to DuPont for processing materials such as Lycra, Delrin and Teflon. Remaining power is sold to the grid of the utility, PNEM-MEGA, 's Hertogenbosh, The Netherlands. With the DLE combustion system in place, the LM2500+ achieves less than 25 ppm NO.
