LM6000 Gas Turbine Popular in Americas Region
ANAHEIM, CA -- GE Marine & Industrial Engines' (M&I) most efficient aeroderivative gas turbine, the LM6000, continues to capture market share throughout the Americas, with 49 units slated for service in this region. All except two of these LM6000s are for baseload or dispatchable operation, M&I reported today at Power-Gen Americas '95."The LM6000 continues to be selected for a variety of applications worldwide and its popularity is not limited solely to the Americas region," said Bill Millhaem, M&I's manager of sales and marketing for the Americas region. "In fact, over 100 LM6000s have been delivered to date, and by the end of 1995, 55 of the 100 delivered units are scheduled to be in commercial operation globally." The LM6000 in-service fleet reliability and availability, based on a 12-month rolling average, have been 99.9% and 98.4% respectively.
