Elano Corporation Establishes A New Manufacturing Plant In Canada

June 27, 2002

EVENDALE, Ohio - The Elano Corporation, a leading supplier of aerospace tubing and duct systems based in Dayton, Ohio (USA), has acquired nearly all of the assets of Aerotech Tubetronics, located in Mirabel, Quebec. Terms were not disclosed.

Aerotech Tubetronics was an important supplier of aluminum tube and duct products for aircraft and helicopters. The operation, which employed about 35 people, will now do business as GE Elano Canada.

"This investment is an excellent fit for Elano," said Dale Collins, president and CEO of Elano Corporation. "GE Elano Canada will have a very strong product line with a specialty in aluminum-based components. We believe there is a tremendous opportunity to grow this operation, which will further GE's industrial commitment to Canada."

Acquiring Aerotech Tubetronics assets not only expands Elano's range of technology, but its customer base which now includes Bombardier and Bell Helicopter, world leaders in the regional jet and helicopter markets respectively.

This investment supports GE Canada's Industrial Benefits program for the upcoming Maritime Helicopter program to be awarded by the Federal Government of Canada.
