GE Aviation Recognized as Supplier of the Year from Boeing

April 16, 2010

EVENDALE, OHIO -- GE Aviation has been recognized as the Supplier of the Year in the Propulsion category by The Boeing Company. GE Aviation was one of 14 companies honored for exceptional commitment to excellence in working with Boeing at an April 13 event in Seattle, Washington.

"Every supplier -- small and large -- is critical to our success and it's important to recognize these 14 suppliers for demonstrating industry-leading standards of quality, efficiency and performance," said Ray Conner, Boeing enterprise leader of Supplier Management and vice president and general manager of Supplier Chain Management and Operations for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

"Boeing is a highly valued customer for GE Aviation," said Chip Blankenship, vice president and general manager of Commercial Engine Operations at GE Aviation. "Being recognized as a Boeing Supplier of the Year is a great honor that is shared by every employee at our business. With their hard work and commitment to quality, GE Aviation develops and produces the most technologically advanced jet engines that provide our customers with outstanding performance every day."

GE Aviation received the recognition based on its work with Boeing's 777 and 767 aircraft. GE90 engines power Boeing's 777 aircraft, and the customers have showed strong support for the engine-aircraft combination. The Boeing 767 aircraft is powered by GE's CF6 engine, which is the most utilized and reliable engine in the industry.

This year's winners represent an elite group among more than 12,000 active Boeing suppliers in nearly 100 countries around the world. This selection was based on stringent performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical expertise.
