General Electric Company to Acquire Everest VIT, Inc.

Huerth, Germany - General Electric Company has signed a definitive agreement with Welch Allyn to acquire Everest VIT, Inc. (EVIT), a remote industrial visual inspection technologies subsidiary. The transaction, terms of which are not being disclosed, will be completed upon receipt of the various regulatory approvals. EVIT will become part of GE Inspection Technologies, headquartered in Huerth, Germany. 

"EVIT's remote industrial visual inspection technology is an excellent complement to GE Inspection Technologies' ultrasound, x-ray and eddy current testing modalities," said Jeff Nagel, president of GE Inspection Technologies. "Expanding GE Inspection Technologies' NDT capabilities to include visual inspection will enhance our customers' ability to detect and diagnose repair opportunities."
