Air Canada Signs Agreement for GE's myEngines

April 12, 2011

MIAMI, FLORIDA -- Air Canada has signed an agreement with GE Aviation for its myEnginesTM, part of the OnPoint Digital Solutions. myEngines consists of digital app suites that help customers better manage their engine fleets and improve productivity. Air Canada operates a fleet of GE90, CF6, CF34 and CFM56 engines.

"myEngines digital services brings engine data right to our customers' fingertips wherever they are," said Huntley Myrie, Services Solutions manager for GE Aviation. "With Air Canada’s extensive GE and CFM engine fleet, myEngines will enable the airline to quickly access critical engine data on their smartphone and laptop and desktop computer systems."

GE launched myEngines with LAN Chile at last year's Farnborough Air Show with four app suites. Recently, GE added the new Ops app suite focused on helping customers better manage their fleet performance, cost and aircraft/spare engine availability. The five myEngines app suites from which customers can choose are:

- Overhaul: Track engines though the overhaul process with instant access to reports, data and findings; interaction with GE technical experts on workscope; and real-time delivery status and updates to help optimize fleet planning.
- Material: Research and order urgently required new material and track delivery status online to minimize delays in response to critical needs.
- Health: Monitor, trend and analyze critical engine parameters to better manage operating costs; and review and acknowledge health reports and notifications.
- Config: Access engine configurations to help manage service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
- Ops: Manage fleet performance, cost and aircraft/spare engine availability.

More than 20 digital apps are now available in the five app suites, which operate on a variety of smart phones as well as laptop and desktop computer systems.
