GE Engine Services Focuses On Commitment To Asia

SINGAPORE - GE Engine Services (GEES), the leading global provider of customer-oriented solutions, continues to expand its Asian operations to service and support engines produced by GE Aircraft Engines, CFM International, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and International Aero Engines.

In recent years, GE Engine Services' presence in Asia has grown from a single operation in Singapore to a complete network of regional facilities.

  • GE Engine Services, Malaysia: Joint venture with Malaysian Air Systems Berhad (MAS); Asia's largest CFM56 engine overhaul service provider; Overhauls and repairs GE, CFM56, and PW4000 engines for MAS and other Asia-Pacific airlines at Subang, Malaysia, facility.
  • GE Engine Services (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.: Joint venture with Xiamen Aviation Industry Co., Ltd., Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Ltd., China Eastern Airlines Company Ltd., Hainan Airlines Group Co., Ltd.; Began operations in 2001; CFM56-3/-5/-7 capabilities are being phased in; Home to Asia's most advanced test cell with up to 150,000 pounds (667 kN) thrust capability; CAAC-certified for CFM56-3.
  • GE Aviation Service Operation Pte. Ltd.: Sole provider of component repair for Malaysian Airlines' CFM56-3 fleet; Repair Center of Excellence for Combustors & turbine airfoils; FAA-certified.
  • Airfoil Technologies Singapore Pte. Ltd.: Capacity to refurbish one million airfoils per year; A subsidiary of Airfoil Technologies International LLC, a joint venture between GE Engine Services and TFX Sermatech International LLC; Repair Center of Excellence for compressor airfoils; FAA-certified.
  • GE On Wing Support (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.: Dispatches "rapid response" technicians throughout Asia; provides quick turnaround on wing maintenance and repair from the Malaysian Airlines Aero facility in Subang; FAA- and DCA-certified, limited powerplant and accessories CFM56, CF6-50/-80, PW4000, JT8 and JT9.
  • GE On Wing Support (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.: Co-located with GEES overhaul facility; CAAC-certified, limited powerplant CFM56-3/-7. Dispatches "rapid response" technicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year worldwide; Provides quick-turnaround, on wing maintenance and repair.
  • GEES - Japan, Corp: Joint venture with All Nippon Airways co., Ltd. and Ishikowajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. to perform component repair at Yokoshiba, Japan; FAA-certified.
  • GE On Wing Support (Korea): Opened at Kimpo Airport in 2000; KCAB-certified, limited powerplant & accessories CFM56, CF6, V2500 and selected APUs. Dispatches "rapid response" technicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to locations worldwide; Provides quick turn-around, on wing maintenance and repair.
