GE's Proven Range of LM Service Products Reduce Overall Gas Turbine Expenses
ORLANDO, FL - From maintenance agreements and retrofit kits to an engine exchange programÖthese are just a few of the proven LM Service Products offered by GE Marine & Industrial Engines (M&I). Customers are assured the greatest possible return on engine investments by using these products.GE's LM fleet of aeroderivative gas turbines -- LM1600, LM2500, LM2500+, LM5000 and LM6000 -- have a demonstrated reliability up to 99.7% and availability greater than 97%. This outstanding performance, with minimum downtime, is possible through the following LM Service Products: M&I Maintenance Agreements protect customers' investments by providing proper engine maintenance. M&I assumes the risk for engine-caused repairs, as well as normal wear and tear. These agreements distribute the cost of maintenance uniformly from start-up through major overhaul. Table 1 lists the comprehensive maintenance agreements available. If full coverage is not necessary, M&I will tailor a program to need specific customer needs.

M&I Service Exchange Program (SEP) is a breakthrough in the industry since it offers customers the opportunity to trade in an existing LM gas turbine for the latest technology of a new one. LM engines are extremely reliable, but they will eventually need a major overhaul. With SEP, costs are fixed so there are no repair surprises, and downtime is minimized to a single outage. M&I offers a one-year warranty on the new engine. M&I Rotable Engine Maintenance Units (EMU) minimizes field downtime and depot turnaround time as well as overall maintenance costs. M&I's Customer Service maintains a supply of module replacements ñ usually exchanged on site ñ to maximize gas turbine availability. M&I also offers an on-site hot section module exchange. Customers receive fully balanced and match-ground high pressure turbine rotor and nozzle assemblies. M&I Upgrade Kits provide increased power, lower emissions and ease of maintenance for gas turbines. The Power Upgrade kit is an economical way to increase power output. Table 2 shows specific outputs for LM2500 retrofit kits. Also available are LM6000 retrofit kits to uprate PA to PC models and PB to PD models. The M&I Dry Low Emissions (DLE) Upgrade helps meet emissions standards. This direct-replacement DLE combustor can be easily retrofitted into existing installations. There are several Upgrade-for-Maintainability kits that include thermal barrier coatings, condition monitoring devices and damper bearings. All of these kits are intended to reduce life cycle costs and expand preventive maintenance capabilities.

M&I Lease Engine Program makes a lease engine available to members during scheduled and unscheduled engine events so revenue is not affected by an engine removal. M&I demonstrates its commitment to customers by offering members an hourly late delivery penalty credit for every hour past 72 hours it takes them to get a lease engine to a site or an international freight forwarder M&I also has a non-member lease program, which provides lease engines on an as-available basis. However, the non-member program does not provide guarantees that an engine will be available for delivery. M&I also offers a multi-faceted training program which covers engine familiarization, on-site maintenance (Level I and II), and borescope inspection techniques. These programs, along with all the LM Service Products, are backed by M&I's worldwide network of customer service and field technical representatives. They are available to serve customers 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week from service centers in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. GE M&I is part of GE Aircraft Engines and is headquartered in Evendale. M&I is the world's largest designer, developer and manufacturer of aeroderivative gas turbines for a variety of power generation, gas compression and commercial and military marine propulsion applications.
