Cincinnati, OH -- GOL Transportes Aereos, a leading Brazilian airline, and GE Aviation have signed a five-year OnPoint services agreement for the Boeing 737NG aircraft. The agreement covers repair services and logistics for all systems provided by GE including various avionics, flight management, instruments and hydraulic systems for the B737NG aircraft operated by GOL. 

"This is the first comprehensive OnPoint Services agreement covering systems on the B737NG," said John Jarczyk, general manager of OnPoint programs for GE Aviation Systems. "GOL is a forward-looking aviation leader and they recognize the importance of advanced technology and maintenance services expertise for their B737NG fleet." 

Last month the company announced that GE Aviation's PBN Services was selected by GOL to support Required Navigation Performance (RNP) flight procedure efforts in Brazil. Brazil's air traffic is expected to double from four million passengers per month to eight million by 2014, according to a 2009 KPMG estimate, UK trade commission report. The country is hosting the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, which could place major challenges on Brazil's capacity-limited air traffic management system.
