Republic Signs OnPoint Fuel & Carbon Solutions Agreement

November 15, 2011

DUBAI AIR SHOW -- Republic Airways Holdings Inc. has signed an OnPointSM Fuel & Carbon Solutions agreement with GE Aviation. Under this agreement, GE's Fuel & Carbon Solutions team will use proprietary decision software and fuel consulting expertise and work with Republic Airways to identify and track operational improvements that could reduce the airline's fuel spend by an average of three percent.

"We are extremely proud to enter into this market leading agreement with GE Fuel and Carbon Solution,” said Brian Bedford, chief executive officer, Republic Airways Holdings. “This strategic relationship will enable us to meet or exceed our short-term goal to cut our fuel consumption and carbon emission by 2 to 3 percent per year. This partnership together with our recent order of 80 firm and 40 price-protected options of the fuel efficient Airbus A319/A320 neo aircraft powered by the LEAP engines will enable us to reach our long-term goal to cut 20 percent of our fuel burn and carbon emissions."

“Republic Airways is focused on improving the operations of its airlines, and GE's Fuel & Carbon Solutions provides customers with the data and expertise that can help them further reduce their fuel usage and emissions,” said John Gough, leader of GE Aviation's OnPoint Fuel and Carbon Solutions of GE Aviation Services.

Fuel typically accounts for about 30 percent of an airline's expenses. With volatility in fuel prices over the last two years, airlines are looking for ways to manage this major portion of their cost base more effectively. Fuel & Carbon Solutions is one way for GE to work with its customers and develop effective fuel management solutions.

Part of GE's ecomagination portfolio, Fuel & Carbon Solutions deliver results through a three-step process:

- Operational evaluation: Identify and collect data on the airline's current fuel and carbon reduction programs, and quantify where the customer is today.
- Customized solution design: Further analyze data to isolate and prioritize potential improvements.
- Implementation support and verification: Work with customers to implement changes, and then measure and validate savings.
