Swiss International Air Lines Selects GE Aviation to Drive Operational Efficiency Fleet-wide

June 16, 2015

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) selected GE Aviation’s Flight Efficiency Services (FES) for fuel management.

In addition to providing Flight Data Management (FDM) and Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) services through GE’s Flight Risk Management, GE Aviation’s Flight Analytics System will deliver their Fuel Management Solution, which will include the evaluation and analysis of flight and operational data to identify and prioritize fuel savings opportunities and enable a platform for fuel management analytics.

“A key component SWISS will receive from GE is the fuel management dashboard, enabling visibility of fuel savings and base line calculations to provide insight in to true fuel usage across all stages of flight and clear identification of fuel saving opportunities. Only accurate data enables good decision making ability, and this is what our Flight Analytics System is capable,” said Michael Thompson, general manager of Flight Efficiency Services for GE Aviation. “We will begin implementing the fuel management solution with the SWISS team this summer.”

“The extension of our current FDM system to the integrated GE Aviation Flight Analytics System marks a milestone in SWISS’ fuel efficiency program history”, said Rainer Hiltebrand, SWISS Chief Operating Officer. “It allows us to further improve our operational efficiency while generating synergies with our Flight Safety Department and Technical Division since these areas will also benefit from the enhanced data analysis capabilities.”
