TAM Brazilian Airlines Awards OnPoint Service Agreement to GE

EVENDALE, Ohio - TAM Brazilian Airlines has signed a 15-year OnPointSM Solutions service agreement with GE - Aviation's Services business for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of CFM56-5B* engines that will power the airline's fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft. 

In addition, the airline signed a seven-year OnPointSM Solutions agreement for 12 CF6-80E engines that power TAM's fleet of Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. 

TAM has ordered CFM56-5B* engines to power a fleet of 25 Airbus A320 family aircraft that will be delivered between 2007 and 2010. Engine maintenance and overhauls will be performed at the GE-Celma facility in Petropolis, Brazil. GE Celma will add the CFM56-5B* overhaul line capability in addition to the CFM56-7B*, CFM56-3* and CF6-80C2.
