TRUEngine* Program Surpasses 10,000 Engine Enrollments

February 26, 2015

EVENDALE, OH, February 24, 2015 – The TRUEngine program continues to gain momentum with total engine enrollments surpassing the 10,000 mark as 2015 gets underway. The milestone comes less than six months after the program broke through the 9,000-engine mark.

“The rapid growth in the TRUEngine program underscores the value of a technically robust and transparent means of identifying engines that have been maintained in a GE or CFM configuration,” said Kevin McAllister, president and CEO of GE Aviation’s Services organization. “The TRUEngine designation provides significant benefits to operators including higher asset residual values, optimized product support, and enhanced warranties.”

With the TRUEngine designation, engine owners, potential buyers, lessors, and appraisers know an engine's content and maintenance history have been verified by GE or CFM, enabling them to more easily evaluate engine configuration, asset value and re-marketability. Studies show engines maintained in the OEM configuration can have as much as 50% higher residual value versus those engines maintained with Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) content and/or Designated Engineering Repairs (DERs) .

Launched in 2008 for the CFM56* engine family, the program has since been expanded to include CF6, GEnx and CF34 engines. To qualify for the TRUEngine program, the engine configuration, overhaul practices, spare parts and repairs used to service an engine must comply with the respective GE- or CFM-issued engine manuals and other maintenance recommendations. The qualification is obtained through the customer's declaration of compliance and GE or CFM's verification of customer submitted maintenance records. There is no cost to participate.
