TOKYO, Japan/AUSTIN, Texas - GE Aviation (President & CEO: David Joyce; HQ: Ohio, USA) announced that it has recently signed a contract, to provide Flight Analytics, with All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Osamu Shinobe; HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter called "ANA"). Flight Analytics will help improve fuel efficiency based on an analysis of flight data. This is the first-time GE is providing digital solutions to the Japanese market.
ANA operates more than 1,000 international and domestic flights every day, and its fuel-related cost totaled approximately JPY 300 billion (USD 2.6 billion) for the fiscal year of 2015. The introduction of GE's Flight Analytics has the potential to reduce the airline's fuel cost up to 1% annually.
Analyzing flight data via flight analytics makes it possible to keep track of fuel consumption over the course of the entire flight-from takeoff to landing-and can provide support to pilots on how to efficiently operate aircraft. The solution generates data including appropriate amount of fuel that needs to be stored on board. This enables airlines to improve operational flexibility.

Today, more than 100 airlines covering 10,000 aircraft are GE Aviation Digital Solutions' customers for such services as flight and fuel analytics, navigation services, airline operations management and planning and recovery.
In addition to flights analytics, GE Aviation offers a variety of solutions including Intelligent Fleet, which combines flight data as well as operation and maintenance data to maximize productivity of aircraft management; and Intelligent Network, which optimizes reallocation of equipment as well as cabin crew members and pilots during a typhoon or other disaster.
