To take advantage of the full capability of the Flight Management System (FMS), each airline requires a set of customized databases tailored to their unique operations.

Solution

GE Aviation offers a flexible suite of tools and services allowing each airline to define and fulfill their unique database requirements.

Navigation Database (NDB) Update Service
  • GE Aviation holds a Type 2 Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicating that GE’s NDB production processes are compliant with RTCA DO-200A.
  • GE Aviation holds a Type 2 Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the United States Air Force (USAF) indicating that GE’s NDB production processes are compliant with RTCA DO-200A.
  • GE Aviation holds a Type 2 Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the United States Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) indicating that GE’s NDB production processes are compliant with RTCA DO-200A.  For more information, contact PMA209 at cnsatm.navdb@navy.mil.
  • The following Type 1 LOA Data Suppliers' data is approved for use by GE Aviation for generating NDBs. These Type 1 suppliers are authorized to deliver the NDBs to their respective contracted end users:

    • Lufthansa Systems FlightNav Inc.
    • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
    • NAVBLUE Limited
